Cagayan de Oro City | Weekend Staycation at Limketkai Luxe Hotel

Since the start of this year, we have wanted to take a break from our busy daily grind. Unfortunately, our free time rarely matched so our family vacation plans never materialized. Last weekend, we had the perfect solution: a quick weekend staycation in Cagayan de Oro City. We booked for an overnight stay at Limketkai Luxe Hotel through the Traveloka app, and off we went to our relaxing getaway.

LOCATION

Limketkai Luxe Hotel is within the Limketkai complex, conveniently located in the Lapasan-CM Recto Business Area of Cagayan de Oro City. It is right across the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTSP), formerly known as Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST).

There's a short walkway that connects it to the Limketkai Mall and Robinson's Mall. There are lots of restaurants and food outlets within walking distance. There's also 7-eleven and a pharmacy nearby.

It is also a short distance from other popular shopping destinations in the city like Ayala Centrio, Gaisano, and the soon-to-open SM Premier.

ROOM

We stayed in a twin deluxe room, an air-conditioned 30-square meter room with two separate single beds. If there is anything I would have loved to see in this room, it's freshly pressed linens. It didn't matter that much though because we were all flat on the bed right after taking these photos. 😁 Can't help it! The beds look very inviting!

We requested for an extra bed in our room, and it was set up in no time at all. The staff brought in extra towels, water, slippers, and toiletries as well.

The wardrobe closet with full-length mirrors has a huge space for the luggage, complete with hangers, iron and ironing board, and an in-room safe.

Closet and mini bar on the left; toilet and bathroom on the right.

A coffee/tea maker is also provided for your instant caffeine fix, and a mini bar with canned beers, soft drinks, and juices. If you're craving chips, chocolates or ice cream *coughs* there's a 7-eleven at the ground floor.

And of course, for guests who have to catch up with work, there's an office space in the room. Bonus points for the city view while working, right?

BATHROOM AND TOILETRIES

The bathroom is clean, spacious, and well-lit. Hot and cold shower is available.
Obligatory bathroom selfie. LOL.

Basic toiletries are provided, including toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand soap, bath gel, shampoo & conditioner, and hand & body lotion. Other personal items such as vanity kit (cotton balls, cotton buds and nail file), shaving kit (disposable razor and shaving cream), and shower cap are also provided.

Face, hand, and bath towels, as well as slippers, are available for use. There’s a sewing kit too, just in case you have a wardrobe malfunction.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Guests of the hotel have free access to the infinity swimming pool and gym. Both facilities are open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

Wellness and Recreation

TIP: Pack your favorite swimwear and gym clothes (and footwear) should you plan to burn off those excess calories from their breakfast buffet.

BREAKFAST

Speaking of breakfast, there's a free buffet at the KaVe restaurant for all guests from 6:00AM to 10:00AM.

There's a wide assortment of breakfast goodies. There's bacon, ham, sausages, bread, cheese, cereals, fruits, pancakes, waffles, and many more.

STAFF

Everyone who worked in the hotel is courteous, well-trained, warm and friendly. They are very helpful, attentive, and are able to respond to our queries and requests.

  1. Laminate flooring is extraordinarily long-lasting and realistic, and immune to staining. Laminate floors are a finances-pleasant opportunity for hardwood flooring, and springs in a big kind of patterns, patterns, and colors.
